Fox News host Greg Gutfeld blasted presidential candidate Joe Biden for a position he holds about sexual assault accusations against college students.
On Thursday, Gutfeld, along with other network co-hosts of The Five, discussed an upcoming interview between Biden accuser Tara Reade and Megyn Kelly.
“It reminds everybody, before they go after her, she’s a Democrat, a lifelong Democrat, worked for Biden for a long time. Right now, the Dems, they need a candidate they can get behind, not a candidate who wants to get behind them,” Gutfeld began.
Reade, who was a lifelong Democrat and was a Senate aide for Biden in the 1990s, says she has never been a supporter of President Trump, but that she is no longer a Democrat.
“Here’s what’s really vile. Joe Biden says if he’s elected, he’ll reverse a rule issued by the Education Secretary, Betsy Devos. It’s an amazing move to bolster protections for students accused of sexual assault on campus,” Gutfeld said.
On Wednesday, Biden promptly voiced opposition to a new Title IX rule implemented by DeVos that would provide college students accused of sexual assault with protections, including the right to a live hearing and for accusers to be cross-examined. It prevents universities from using a single official to launch investigations and make judgments on complaints.
The former vice president said the rule “gives colleges a green light to ignore sexual violence and strip survivors of their rights.”
“So, Joe Biden is actually trying to block the presumption of innocence for students, but he expects that for himself,” Gutfeld said. “So he’s kind of basically saying he deserves more rights than your son or daughter on campus. So, that takes all my goodwill off the table. I did believe he should have the presumption of innocence. But now, I say, ‘Screw the old, handsy pervert.'”
