Dr. William Regine

Occupation: Professor and chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Maryland School of Medicine

Achievement: Regine was recently named the first Isadore and Fannie Schneider Foxman endowed chair in radiation oncology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The endowed chair is the result of a gift from Norty Foxman and his wife, Carol, in honor of his parents. The gift will support radiation oncology research at the School of Medicine.

Dale Buchbinder, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Occupation: Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Good Samaritan Hospital

Home: Pikesville

Achievement: Buchbinder was recently named chairman of the Department of Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital. He came to Good Samaritan from Greater Balt, where he served as the chair of surgery for 18 years.

Buchbinder has been involved in vascular surgical research for the past 25 years. He has authored or co-authored 70 publications in the area of vascular surgery and is recognized as an expert in the field of lower extremity arterial reconstruction as well as the diagnosis and treatment of venous disease.

Mary O’Connor

Occupation: Assistant professor of nursing at College of Notre Dame of Maryland

Achievement: O’Connor was recently named a fellow by the American College of Healthcare Executives. The honor is presented to a nursing professional who has served as a health care administrator for more than 10 years; contributed positively to the profession; participated in continuing education; and successfully completed written and oral certification exams. O’Connor has taught at College of Notre Dame since 2005. She served as interim chairwoman of the nursing department during the chairwoman’s sabbatical in the spring 2008 semester.
