Even Dianne Feinstein wants Hillary to ‘step up’ and explain her email use

Republicans have been widely condemning Hillary Clinton’s private email use–but now it appears even top Democrats may not be on her side. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) took a cautious approach to the issue during her Sunday appearance on Meet the Press, and urged Clinton to come forward and explain herself.

“She is the leading candidate, whether it be Republican or Democrat, for the next president,” said Feinstein. “And I think that she needs step up and come out and state exactly what the situation is.”

“From this point on, the silence is going to hurt her,” she added.

Also on Sunday, House Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C) told Face the Nation that “months and months and months” of Clinton’s emails are missing from the records turned in by the State Department, including those from the day of the famous “Texts from Hillary” picture depicting her traveling to Libya.

“I want the public to see my email,” Clinton tweeted on Wednesday. “I asked State to release them. They said they will review them for release as soon as possible.”
