Believe the hype! Lindsay Lohan arrived in town Thursday with girlfriend Samantha Ronson, who was scheduled to deejay a benefit party for the Children’s Miracle Network at Lotus Lounge last night.
The pair arrived on a late-afternoon Amtrak train, and were taken through Union Station on a golf cart, the better to expedite them through the throng of surprised rush-hour commuters.

-Howard University’s homecoming always attracts top entertainment talent, and this weekend’s celebration is no exception. Comedian-deejay Steve Harvey broadcasts from campus this morning, while R&B star Raheem DeVaughn headlines a concert this evening. Actor Terrence Howard is the grand marshal of the homecoming parade on Saturday, while Brandon T. Jackson and Keisha Knight Pulliam headline the Homecoming Greek Step Show at the D.C. Armory on Saturday night.
-And Andy Rooney was at the National Press Club Thursday night when the club’s Silver Owls (its most senior members) made him part of the “Order of the Owl.”
-Janet Jackson chose to stay at the Ritz Carlton Georgetown while in town for her show at the Verizon Center. Her boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri, was in tow.
