Matthew McConaughey interested in joining Bezos Commanders bid: Reports

Matthew McConaughey may be joining billionaire Jeff Bezos’s bid for the Washington Commanders.

Several reports claimed Monday that the actor is considering making his own bid for the Washington, D.C., football team or joining Bezos’s reported bid. Jay-Z is also speculated to be the Amazon founder’s partner in the venture.

McConaughey is reportedly a fan of the team and friends with current owner Dan Snyder.

“Matthew has always been a huge fan and his ties with the team go way back,” a source familiar with the matter told the New York Post.

Last week, the Commanders released a statement announcing the Snyders had hired Bank of America to explore selling the team.

Soon after, reports of Bezos’s interest emerged. The Washington Post, which is owned by the billionaire, notably reported on his interest in making a bid. Further, the publication indicated that Jay-Z could be involved.
