Maryland man gets shelter work for duct-taping dog

A Maryland man convicted of animal abuse for wrapping duct tape around a dog’s muzzle and abandoning the animal must work at animal shelter as part of his sentence.

An Allegany Court judge suspended two 90-day jail terms for 24-year-old Ricky Adams on the condition that Adams serve three years probation and perform 100 hours of community service at the county animal shelter, according to the Cumberland Times-News.

Adams was convicted in November of duct-taping the 10-month old terrier’s muzzle in March. The dog, now named Ducky, was seen running around with the duct tape for about a week before being rescued.

Another man was also arrested in the case, but  charges against him have been dropped.
