WHAT: All but called Mitt Romney a liar, then pointedly refused to congratulate Romney on winning the Iowa caucuses. WHY IT’S DIM: Aside from helping the Obama re-election effort if Romney gets GOP nod, Gingrich’s conduct lends credit to critics who say Newt’s ego is his biggest problem.
