President Trump said Monday that the Washington Post has become a mouthpiece for Amazon and is starting to target him more frequently after the Supreme Court ruled last month that states can force online customers to pay state sales tax for e-commerce purchases.
“The Amazon Washington Post has gone crazy against me ever since they lost the Internet Tax Case in the U.S. Supreme Court two months ago,” Trump tweeted. “Next up is the U.S. Post Office which they use, at a fraction of real cost, as their ‘delivery boy’ for a BIG percentage of their packages….”

Trump added that the paper’s owner, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is using the Post to lobby his administration on policy.
“….In my opinion the Washington Post is nothing more than an expensive (the paper loses a fortune) lobbyist for Amazon,” Trump tweeted. “Is it used as protection against antitrust claims which many feel should be brought?”

Although Trump has claimed several times that Amazon is costing the U.S. Postal Service money, USPS has declared the relationship with Amazon a success and says the service makes money off of it’s deal with the online retailer.
Contrary to Trump’s comments, the USPS says it is legally prohibited from charging shippers less than the delivery cost, Bloomberg reported in April.
Trump has often attacked the Washington Post for being “fake news” and for using anonymous sources that he does not believe exist.
On Sunday, the Post published a report that said in private Trump has expressed his frustration over the lack of progress he has been able to make regarding North Korea.
That article said “[t]he accounts of internal administration dynamics come from conversations with a half-dozen White House aides, State Department officials and diplomats, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive negotiations.”
However, Trump responded Monday morning that he is “very happy” about the progress he has made with North Korea so far.
“[T]he Fake News is saying, without ever asking me (always anonymous sources), that I am angry because it is not going fast enough. Wrong, very happy!” Trump posted to Twitter.
A Rocket has not been launched by North Korea in 9 months. Likewise, no Nuclear Tests. Japan is happy, all of Asia is happy. But the Fake News is saying, without ever asking me (always anonymous sources), that I am angry because it is not going fast enough. Wrong, very happy!
