Jenna Bush isn’t the only one in and around 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue who’s newly engaged. Lea Anne McBride, a spokeswoman for Vice President Dick Cheney, recently got engaged to Wes Foster, her longtime boyfriend. Foster is the deputy assistant secretary for management and budget at the Treasury Department. The two met years ago while working on a political campaign in Phoenix.
“I could gush about how wonderful he is, but I’ll spare you,” the happy bride-to-be told us Wednesday. The two plan to get married in late July in McBride’s home state of Georgia. Why July? Like any good White House employee, McBride picked the date so she could still make it to the Republican National Convention in Minnesota.
But Foster likes the date too: The devoted Hokie wants to make sure that he never misses a Virginia Tech game.
