Clinton expands national lead after lewd Trump video

Hillary Clinton saw her national lead expand over Donald Trump Thursday nearly a week after a video was released showing him making inappropriate remarks about women.

According to a new Fox News poll released Thursday, Clinton holds a 7-point advantage over the GOP nominee, leading with 45 percent support to Trump’s 38 percent. Libertarian Gary Johson takes 7 percent support, while Green Party nominee Jill Stein earns 3 percent. In a two-way matchup, Clinton’s lead extends to 8 points (49-41 percent)

In just the past week, Clinton’s lead has expanded by 5 points, having led 44-42 percent over Trump in Fox’s previous poll taken last week. This is Fox News’ first poll taken since video was released by the Washington Post last Friday showing Trump making lewd comments about women and how celebrities can do “whatever you want” to them.

Particularly, Trump has taken a hit with voters who do not believe he is qualified or has the temperament to be president. Fifty-six percent of voters believe he is unqualified to be president, while only 42 percent believe he is. Only 35 percent of voters believe he has a presidential temperament, while 63 percent believe he does not.

As for Clinton, she scores well in both questions. Sixty-eight percent of voters believe she is qualified, and 64 percent believe she has the temperament to serve as president.

Seventy-seven percent of voters also believe that Trump is not a good role model for children, while only 20 percent believe he is. Meanwhile, 54 percent of voters think Clinton is a good role model, compared to 43 percent who do not.
