Dulaney student guilty of reckless endangerment

A Dulaney High student ? who caused his school to be evacuated after he brought an explosive mix of chlorine and alcohol to school in May ? pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment Wednesday.

Scott Perry, 18, of Phoenix, was sentenced in Baltimore County Circuit Court to one year of probation and ordered to complete 40 hours of community service.

Dulaney was evacuated May 11 after teacher Thomas Famulari found a clear bottle with a powdery substance emitting a vapor smell in a boys? bathroom.

Famulari was taken to a hospital, treated and released shortly after, Baltimore County police said.

Under questioning, Perry admitted to bringing chlorine tablets half the size of golf balls and rubbing alcohol from home.

Perry?s attorney, John Austin, categorized the incident as a “stupid little prank.”

“He was trying to do the kind of thing they do on YouTube all the time: Fill up a soda bottle and make it go ?pop,? ” Austin said. “He wanted to blow all the paper out of the trash can.”
