Clinton soars past Trump in Michigan

Hillary Clinton has almost doubled her lead over Donald Trump among likely Michigan voters, according to Detroit News-WDIV poll released Wednesday evening.

The Democratic nominee has a nearly 12-point advantage over the Republican candidate, and leads him 42.2 percent to 30.6 percent among respondents polled Oct. 10-11. The question included Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

In late September, Clinton led 42-35.

Clinton’s numbers have actually dropped by less than 1 point since the organization’s survey following the first debate, but Trump’s fell by four and a half points. The outliers took a small portion of undecided voters and those who are no longer supporting the main candidates.

The poll included 600 likely voters and had a 4-point margin of error. It did not state whether individuals were surveyed online or telephone.
