Drudge Report teases new Kavanaugh bombshell: ‘Another Woman?’

In the top-left column, dedicated to the Kavanaugh saga, a line of text, removed since the story came out, said insiders “claim Ronan Farrow and Jane Mayer are set to report a new twist in Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation… MORE…”

It further added: “NEW YORKER to publish account of a new woman and a ‘dildo’… She is ‘Never Trump’, says a source. But best friend will say ‘She never told me!’… Developing…”

Drudge Report founder Matt Drudge tweeted that this will be the “latest episode of Swamp.”

The actual New Yorker report surfaced about an hour later, detailing a new sexual misconduct allegation levied by a woman named Deborah Ramirez that is being investigated by Senate Democrats. Ramirez, who was a Yale clasemate of Kavanaugh’s, alleged Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at a college party, put his penis in her face, and caused her to touch it without her consent as she pushed him away. Within the story, in line with what the Drudge Report teased, was the mention of a “gag plastic penis” at the party before the alleged misconduct happened.

Kavanaugh denied the allegation, calling it a “smear.”

“This alleged event from 35 years ago did not happen. The people who knew me then know that this did not happen, and have said so. This is a smear, plain and simple,” he said in a statement. “I look forward to testifying on Thursday about the truth, and defending my good name — and the reputation for character and integrity I have spent a lifetime building — against these last-minute allegations.”

White House Spokesperson Kerri Kupec offered support to Kavanaugh. “This 35-year-old, uncorroborated claim is the latest in a coordinated smear campaign by the Democrats designed to tear down a good man,” Kupec said. “This claim is denied by all who were said to be present and is wholly inconsistent with what many women and men who knew Judge Kavanaugh at the time in college say. The White House stands firmly behind Judge Kavanaugh.”

Farrow, writing for the New Yorker, has been at the forefront of bombshell reporting in recent months, exposing sexual misconduct allegations against media giants such as Harvey Weinstein and Les Moonves.

Until Sunday evening, Kavanaugh faced only a single sexual assault allegation by a California professor, Christine Blasey Ford, who says he drunkenly forced himself on her at a Maryland party while they were both in high school during the early 1980s. Kavanaugh vehemently denied that allegation. Ford is scheduled to testify before the committee Thursday. Kavanaugh, who denies the allegation, is set to testify again afterwards.

Michael Avenatti, the lawyer representing porn star Stormy Daniels in her legal battle with President Trump, declared on Twitter that he represents a woman, who is not Ramirez, with “credible information” regarding Kavanaugh and his former Georgetown Preparatory School classmate, Mark Judge, who Ford says was in the room during the alleged incident. “We will be demanding the opportunity to present testimony to the committee and will likewise be demanding that Judge and others be subpoenaed to testify. The nomination must be withdrawn,” Avenatti added.

He further implicated Kavanaugh in an alleged scheme in the early 1980s in which alcohol and drugs were used to take advantage of women at parties. Avenatti, who said he referred this “significant evidence” to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Reacting to the Drudge Report’s tease Sunday evening, HuffPost reporter Yashar Ali said “several rumors” have been going around all day and that two White House sources confirmed to him they were aware of a potential story.

Meanwhile Maggie Haberman of the New York Times tweeted, “It’s 1998 all over again,” a reference to the Drudge Report leading the way in unveiling the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
