Gucci loses clothes, gets ditched

This was Giorgio Gucci’s first trip to Washington, D.C., and after all he’s been through, it might be his last.

First, the third-generation Italian fashion heir’s luggage was lost en route to the States. Then, on Wednesday, he was left stranded at the White House by Rep. Diane Watson, D-Calif., according to Politico. She was supposed to meet him and give him a tour. The two were spotted together later on Wednesday when Gucci appeared at the Rayburn building alongside a panel of experts to discuss the damaging effects of counterfeit goods.

And while those at the reception suggested he might get to meet the first lady when he visited the White House on Friday, Gucci didn’t sound optimistic.

“I don’t expect that I will have the privilege,” he told Yeas & Nays, though he applauded her. “I have all the respect for her personality and how she presents herself. She’s not ostentatious.”
