[VIDEO] Funny “Organizing for Access” infomercial slams White House for close relationship with president’s former political action commmitte

The White House is in hot water for getting a little too close with President Obama’s former political action committee-turned-non-profit, Organizing for Action, which is reportedly selling access to the president for a hefty price. That’s all American Crossroads needed to create a video poking fun at the administration in the hilarious style of a late-night infomercial titled, “Organizing for Access.”

“For just one easy payment of $500,000 you too can get the privilege of quarterly meetings with President Obama,” the ad states. “Now, thanks to Organizing for Access, painful letter writing is a thing of the past.”

The ad is wrought with cheesy imagery of people overacting complete with a dramatic sales-pitch voiceover. “Why waste your money on expensive corporate lobbyists? We beat their price because we sell direct to you.”

American Crossroads, a Republican political action committee, injected real video of MSNBC reporter Chuck Todd questioning the move, when he stated on the February 25 broadcast of “The Daily Rundown,” “This just looks bad – it looks like the White House is selling access.” The voiceover quickly chimed in, clearing his throat and saying, “Uh, don’t listen to him.”

The high price tag for some face time with the president was revealed in a New York Times article on February 22, written by Nicholas Confessore. It serves to confirm that the White House continues to maintain too close a relationship with President Obama’s former fundraising political action committee. When asked about the relationship, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney squirmed and dodged and eventually left the press conference while reporters continued to ask questions.

This recent slip up isn’t Organizing for Action’s first foray into the questionable practices. The group recently held an “off the record” phone chat about gun control, leaving many to continue questioning the president’s commitment to having the most transparent administration in history.
