With “one of the most important” fundraising deadlines approaching, President Obama urged supporters on Saturday to help keep campaign donation margins between him and GOP candidate Mitt Romney “close enough.”
In an e-mail, Obama acknowledges that his campaign “may not outraise” Romney, but said he was “determined to keep the margin close enough that we can win this election right away.”

“To do that I need your help today,” said Obama, pointing to Saturday night’s June fundraising deadline. “The stakes in this election are real.”
On the heels of this week’s Supreme Court decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act, the Romney campaign was able to raise more than $4.6 million dollars in just 24 hours. The Obama campaign refused to release their fundraising totals for the same time period.
