Poll: Arizona millennials favor Trump over Clinton

After months of presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump swearing that people love him, millennials in Arizona are starting to like him… more than they like Hillary Clinton at least.

Public Policy Polling reported on Tuesday that the billionaire’s favorability ratings among millennials are higher than the former First Lady’s.

According to the poll, 31 percent of people aged 18 to 45 have a positive opinion of Trump, versus just 24 percent who have a similar opinion of Clinton. Still, a majority of Gen Y Arizonans have an unfavorable opinion of both leading candidates — 59 percent for Trump and 62 percent for Clinton.

There’s also a sizable portion of millennials in the Democratic and Republican parties who are not comfortable with either of the candidates representing their party at the top of the ticket in November.

A stunning 33 percent of Democratic millennials do not feel comfortable with Clinton, while 22 percent of millennial Republicans say the same about Trump.

Despite the evidence that younger voters in the state seem to be warming up to Trump, he would still lose the millennial vote in a four-way race against Clinton, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

Clinton won a plurality with just 39 percent, her lowest amount of support from millennials in any state. Trump won 32 percent of the Gen Y vote, while Johnson earned 7 percent, and Stein got 3 percent.

Millennials make up the largest group of support for both the Libertarian and Green Party candidates.

Still, 13 percent of these voters are undecided on who to vote for, or if they’ll vote at all. There’s a good chance that many of them are disenfranchised Bernie Sanders supporters who felt that the state’s primary was fixed.
