The Mayflower might have not taken center stage in Alex Gibney‘s new documentary “Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer,” but then again, where else would you throw a Spitzer-themed party? Gibney told Yeas & Nays that he planned to have a cocktail there after his film is shown before a full D.C. audience for the first time Monday night.
Gibney’s big get for the film was “Angelina,” another prostitute who said she spent time with Spitzer, including at the Mayflower. “The other prostitute was at the Mayflower, too, just at a different time,” Gibney explained. “Ashley [Dupre], as we know, only saw Spitzer once — it was that Mayflower moment.” Gibney interviewed “Angelina” for the film after Dupre refused to cooperate. “Because she wouldn’t talk I went looking for other people and I did manage to find someone that nobody else had found.” “Client 9” opens in Washington on Friday.
