What’s this? Motion Picture Association of America President Dan Glickman had to … wait for a table?!
Such was the case Monday morning at the Hay-Adams,where Glickman, who works mere blocks away at 17th and Eye streets, popped in for breakfast, intensely scanned the room for his preferred table, and then was forced to cool his heels for a few minutes until a table opened for him and his two guests: MPAA Vice President of Corporate Communications Angela Martinez and a reporter.
This week’s meet and eat also achieved a rather notable achievement: Lobbyist Juleanna Glover managed to grab breakfast at both of our haunts, the Hay-Adams and Georgetown’s Four Seasons. At the Hay-Adams, Glover was with Christopher Burnham, vice chair at Deutsche Bank and the former U.N. under-secretary-general for management.
The hotel was rimmed with Lincoln Town Cars, thanks to the International Monetary Fund’s various meetings around town. Many of Monday’s breakfast-eaters included representatives of such financial institutions as Unicredit, Rabobank, HSH Norbank, Standard, JP Morgan, Lloyds TBS and Landes.
Side note: The Wall Street Journal recently ran a piece on the best power breakfasts in America. The only D.C. spot to make the cut? The Hay-Adams.
