Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, erstwhile of President Obama and subject of 2012 primary challenge rumors, will not campaign for the Obama-Biden ticket this year.
State Department employees recently asked Clinton to supplant Biden as Vice President, but the veteran is avoiding the political scene altogether this year. “Senior administration officials confirmed on Monday that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would not be joining the president on the campaign trail,” the Huffington Post reports, “given the explicit need to avoid making her position appear political.”

Clinton did play political pundit overseas. In February, she told a Tunisian audience that Obama “will be reelected” president, in response to a question from a local man worried about “Zionist lobbies” having too much influence over American politicians.
