Rep. Allen West says it’s time for Mitt Romney to lay out a bold and aggressive economic plan for where he wants to take the country and to quit being distracted by attempts on the part of liberals and the Obama campaign to keep him off message.
“I would go back to the quote from Alexander the Great: Fortune favors the bold,” the Florida Republican told Fox News’ Sean Hannity Monday. “The American people are looking for a bold plan of action that centers around our economic security, our energy security, our national security.
“I say don’t chase the little shining toy that the liberal media and the liberal progressives like to put out there, as you just talked about [with] war on women or some other means by which they want to divide us and pit us against each other in their goal of collective subjugation,” West added.“We’ve got to talk to the American people. That’s the bottom line. That’s what I would advise Gov. Romney to do.”
West’s comments once again reflected his view that the policies of President Barack Obama are pushing Americans to be more dependent on government, especially Social Security disability insurance and other entitlement programs.
In February, during a speech on the House floor, West said, “The Democratic appetite for ever-increasing redistributionary handouts is in fact the most insidious form of slavery remaining in the world today.”
