Brian Walshe, husband to missing person Ana Walshe, allegedly searched on the internet how to dispose of a body.
Ana Walshe, 39, of Cohasset, was last seen on New Year’s Day morning between 4 and 6 a.m. Brian Walshe has been arrested and charged with misleading police after authorities discovered he made conflicting statements that could not be corroborated with video surveillance footage.
Law enforcement sources told CNN that their investigation has changed from a missing person search to suspicions that Ana may have been killed after internet records from Brian Walshe showed that he searched “how to dispose of a 115-pound woman’s body” and information on dismemberment.
Investigators were searching through the trash at a transfer station in Peabody for Ana’s potential remains on Monday night, per CNN.

ANA WALSHE DISAPPEARANCE: BLOODY KNIFE FOUND AT HOME, HUSBAND’S BAIL SET AT $500K
Trash was brought to the station early last week by sanitation crews, which is about an hour’s drive north from Cohasset, per a law enforcement source. Investigators also put crime scene tape up around Brian Walshe’s mother’s house in Swampscott, where he told police he visited on Jan. 1 — the same day he said he last saw his wife.
Brian Walshe entered a not-guilty plea during an arraignment hearing on Monday. Despite only being charged with one count of intimidation of a witness under claims of misleading police, his bail was set at $500,000 given the evidence against him.
In addition to his timeline statements, which the state says misled police, a bloody knife and blood remnants were found in the basement of Ana and Brian Walshe’s home, Assistant District Attorney Lynn Beland said during Brian Walshe’s arraignment.
“Your Honor, these various statements caused a delay in the investigation to the point that, during the time frame when he didn’t report his wife and gave various statements, that allowed him time to either clean up evidence, dispose of evidence, and causing a delay,” Beland said.
