While a number of Northern Virginians are jockeying for position in the races to replace retiring Sens. Mary Margaret Whipple, D-Arlington, and Patsy Ticer, D-Alexandria, Del. David Englin, D-Alexandria, won’t be one of them.
In an email to supporters Thursday morning, Englin announced that he would be running for re-election to the House of Delegates in the fall — though what districts will look like after the General Assembly re-draws the lines is anybody’s guess.
Meanwhile, Arlington Board Chairwoman Libby Garvey, Alexandria councilman Rob Krupicka, and Del. Adam Ebbin are all running for Ticer’s seat.
Arlington County board member Barbara Favola has indicated she will run for Whipple’s seat, with Del. Patrick Hope and blogger Ben Tribbett also being mentioned as possible candidates. Del. Bob Brink, D-Arlington, though, recently decided against a Senate run.
