Man sought in deadly robbery

Police in Arlington County are searching for a suspect in a robbery attempt that turned deadly.

Police said the suspect in the robbery of a Columbia Pike jewelry store is a black male thought to be in his 50s. Surveillance cameras showed the man of medium build and about 5 feet, 7 inches tall wearing a neon-colored traffic vest during the incident.

Authorities found a 52-year-old Herndon man dead inside the store late Friday after his family reported that he had not come home from work. Police said the robbery took place at about 4 p.m.
