Security guard at Austin motel charged with murder

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A security guard at a Central Texas motel has been charged with murder in a fatal shooting during an altercation.

Travis County jail records show 43-year-old Robert Earl Goins II was being held Tuesday on $300,000 bond. Jail records do not list an attorney for Goins, who was booked Monday afternoon in the slaying of 27-year-old Jonathan Cook.
