The Republican National Committee has raised more than $262 million this election cycle, including $39.4 million in September, though its current cash on hand falls nearly $30 million short of where the committee stood at this point in the 2012 election cycle.
“Our supporters are enthusiastic about Donald Trump, and as a result, this was one of the best months in RNC history for small-dollar fundraising,” RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement released Friday.
Of the $262.3 million raised, the RNC has transferred nearly $11 million to the party’s Senate campaign operation and the National Republican Campaign Committee so far this cycle, including more than $2 million in early October.
“The Trump campaign is happy to see resources being directed to the NRSC and NRCC in order to keep Republican majorities in the House and the Senate this cycle,” Donald Trump’s campaign chairman Steve Bannon said in a statement released by the RNC. “Our commitment to making sure we will have a Republican Congress in place to work with a Trump Administration remains strong.”
Ninety-eight percent of all donations to the RNC this cycle have come from small-dollar donors contributing $200 or less. The average donation last month was $63, according to numbers provided by the committee.
