Daily Beast article says Melania gets more sympathy than Michelle Obama even after upholding ‘violent white supremacy’

The Daily Beast published a story claiming that Melania Trump has received more sympathy than Michelle Obama despite the current first lady upholding “violent white supremacy.”

Kali Holloway of the Make It Right Project, which works to remove Confederate monuments across the country, published a piece Monday titled “Melania isn’t a victim — she’s an accessory to Donald’s crimes,” arguing that the first lady is an “enthusiastic and willing accomplice” to her husband.

“Melania has always keenly recognized the totality of Donald Trump — not just his serial philandering, but also his sexual predation, pathological lying and virulent racism — is only revelatory to those complicit in the sanitization of this FLOTUS’s image over the last four years,” Holloway wrote.

“It’s a clean-up job undertaken despite all evidence to the contrary, extending sympathy that was never afforded to Michelle Obama, who endured unrelenting toxic racism and sexism. Yet Melania, even as she upholds violent white supremacy, demands to be seen as the injured party, dubbing herself ‘the most bullied person’ in the world,” the piece continued.

Holloway argued that Trump’s “feigned victimology” has worked in her favor, as it has for leagues of other white women in history. She added that the first lady is aware of her “transactional” relationship with President Trump and is not just his “trophy wife.”

“In other words, this FLOTUS is more than just a trophy wife or a benign accessory; she’s a collaborator, a co-conspirator, an accessory,” Holloway concluded.

Melania Trump launched the “Be Best” campaign in 2018 in an effort to end bullying of children and promote their well-being. She gave a rare interview to ABC following the initiative’s launch and touched on how she’s been treated since her husband’s 2016 election.

“I could say that I’m the most bullied person in the world,” the first lady said at the time.

She faced backlash recently following her address at the Republican National Convention, when several high-profile personalities and pundits ridiculed her accent.
