Rachel Maddow’s ratings for the month of May were the lowest in the key 25-54 demographic since President Trump took office in 2017.
MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” averaged 410,000 viewers in the demo this month. The ratings were the lowest in that demographic since January 2017 when the show averaged 412,000 demo viewers.
Maddow’s overall viewership numbers were 2.6 million, which put her in third place in the cable news prime time race behind Fox News’ “Hannity” and “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
Maddow’s show, which pushed the possibility of conspiracy between Trump’s 2016 campaign and the Russian government, saw an immediate drop off in ratings following the release of the Mueller report. The show lost 500,000 viewers the Monday after Attorney General William Barr released a summary of the report saying Mueller had found no conspiracy between Trump and the Russian government.
