Bart Simpson: ‘Remember when this country didn’t suck, because I don’t’

Just two minutes, forty five seconds into Sunday night’s episode of The Simpsons, Bart Simpson said what a lot of people are thinking throughout the nation: “Remember when this country didn’t suck, because I don’t.”

It was the latest timely Bartism from one of the nation’s favorite shows, a comment that took a shot at both the state of American affairs and the show’s owner, Fox.

The show brought together the Simpson characters with some from Futurama in a “crossover” with another Fox cartoon hit.

Bart’s comment came as Futurama robot star Bender crashed to Earth as the Simpsons watched another lousy newscast.

Homer Simpson: “What the hell was that?”

Lisa Simpson: “Probably just another piece of America’s space junk falling out of orbit.”

Bart Simpson: “Remember when this country didn’t suck, because I don’t.”
