Spoof infomercial condemns White House for calling Organizing for Action “appropriate”

Enjoying the first “Organizing for Access” spoof infomercial?

But wait! There’s more!

American Crossroads, a conservative super PAC , has released a second video about “Organizing for Access,” again hitting the Obama administration hard for their cozy relationship with the political-action-committee-turned-nonprofit, Organizing for Action — especially the apparent $500,000 price tag on meetings with the President.

The video takes the oh-so-familiar cheesy tone of infomercials to inform viewers about the acceptability of certain behaviors, such as helping an old lady cross the street — appropriate — or texting at dinner — inappropriate. The video then cuts to a scene of White House press secretary Jay Carney calling Organizing for Action “appropriate.”

The rest of the video alerts viewers about their great opportunity to access the White House, by donating $500,000 or more and joining the exclusive “One Percent Club.”

“Send in your executive order today!” the narrator encourages.

The Obama administration has taken heat about Organizing for Action since its inception. Things got worse in the end of February, when The New York Times reported that donors who gave $500,000 or more would get meetings with the President. When pressed by reporters about the price tag, Carney squirmed and kept dodging the question.

But if OFA keeps refusing to answer questions about the $500,000 Obama access price tag, they should expect groups like American Crossroads to keep pressing the issue.
