Marjorie Taylor Greene accused of kicking activist

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is being accused of kicking an activist who confronted her as she was walking away from the Capitol on Thursday.

Marianna Pecora, deputy communications director for the activist group Voters of Tomorrow, posted a short video to Twitter claiming that the congresswoman had struck her with her foot.

Greene posted a longer video of the confrontation to her Twitter that appears to show her kicking at Pecora and calling the activists “foolish cowards” for their stance on gun laws.

“These foolish cowards want the government to take away guns & the rights of parents to defend their children in schools. You have to be an idiot to think gun control will create a utopian society where criminals disarm themselves and obey the law. ‘Gun-free’ zones kill people,” Greene said in the tweet.

The video shows Pecora asking questions about gun laws and the Second Amendment, with her phone appearing to record the audio of the confrontation. Pecora then proceeds to walk directly in front of Greene, to which Greene repeatedly says, “Excuse me,” before the alleged kick.

Neither video makes clear what occurred to cause Pecora to be moved out of the way, but the action caused Pecora to say, “Oh my God,” and Greene to respond, “Get out of the way.”

“You can’t block members of Congress — you literally cannot do that,” Nick Dyer, Greene’s spokesman, tells activists in the video.

Dyer disputed the kicking allegation to the Washington Examiner, saying the “lies” about Greene would “not be tolerated.”

“These deranged leftists surrounded Congresswoman Greene and harangued her as she tried to leave a press conference. The lies about Congresswoman Greene will not be tolerated,” Dyer told the Washington Examiner.

The firebrand congresswoman has been been the target of activists over her views, with some attempting to disqualify her from running for reelection. Greene was also “swatted” twice last month by anonymous perpetrators at her home in Rome, Georgia.
