President Trump attempted to discredit a new poll that found his approval rating sits at 36 percent, the lowest six-month approval rating of any past president in polls going back decades.
“The ABC/Washington Post Poll, even though almost 40% is not bad at this time, was just about the most inaccurate poll around election time!” Trump tweeted.

According to the poll from the Washington Post and ABC News, just 36 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s job as president. Fifty-eight percent of those surveyed said they disapprove of the president’s performance in office.
Neither former President Clinton nor former President Obama reached that level of disapproval from the American people. Former President George W. Bush did during his second term.
The president’s approval rating has steadily declined since April, when it was 42 percent.
According to ABC News, Trump’s approval rating is the lowest six-month approval rating of any president in polls dating back 70 years.
