Timing is everything: ‘Cherubim’ vanishes from the Internet

We don’t want to say we told you so, Elizabeth Edwards, but …

An item on the Kausfiles blog on Slate.com reports “Cherubim,” the alleged pseudonym of the scorned wife of former vice presidential hopeful John Edwards, has not been seen or heard from on various Web sites since the Sept. 27 New York Daily News article outing her as the likely person behind the name.

“You’d think that if Cherubim wasn’t Elizabeth (or even if she was) she’d post something saying ‘I’m not Elizabeth.’ ” Mickey Kaus writes. “It’s also possible that the Cherubim story is some kind of trap, attempting to bait the blogosphere and [mainstream media] into jumping to irresponsible conclusions. Yes, I’m that paranoid.”

Maybe she took her screen name to Match.com?
