TV personality Bob Barker – best known as the former host of “The Price is Right” (as well as for a memorable cameo in Happy Gilmore) — is giving $2 million to the Semper Fi Fund, based in Quantico, Va., for injured members of the armed forces.
“The men and women we put in harm’s way to maintain our freedom deserve the best care and support we can provide when they are injured,” said Barker, a fighter pilot in World War II. “We also have an obligation to their families.”
Barker had previously given $3 million for a research center in Bethesda dedicated to diagnosing and treating traumatic brain injury suffered by U.S. military personnel.
