Sanders: ‘Well, I am angry’

Bernie Sanders defended the tone of his presidential campaign Sunday, in the face of criticism from President Bill Clinton.

Clinton last week argued, “Well, this other guy’s madder than [Hillary Clinton], and that feels authentic. And besides, his slogans are easier to say.” Sanders was asked about that comment Sunday on “Face the Nation.”

Sanders retorted to host John Dickerson, “Well, I am angry.”

“The American people are angry… People are angry because they don’t understand why they have to work longer hours for lower wages with almost all new income going to the top 1 percent. They are angry because their kids are leaving school $40,000, $50,000 in debt,” Sanders said.

“And they’re angry because they are seeing United States having a nation in which elderly people are trying to make it on $12,000, $13,000 on Social Security. People are asking why,” Sanders said.

“Because there is anger, and I share that anger,” Sanders said.
