By the Numbers: YouTube’s Town Hall results

1,329,088: Videos viewed on YouTube’s Town Hall site, where Congressional leaders have been posting videos of themselves talking about various topics, including energy, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the economy. Viewers are then asked to vote for which leaders they support – without being told first of the speakers’ party affiliations.

Now the results are in. The most-watched videos (so far) have been posted by Republicans, with Sen. Jerry Moran of Kansas scoring 343,000 views with his video about the need for a “pro-growth” economy. Coming in second was Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, raking in 231,000 views with her video about energy policy. Third place went to Arizona Sen. John McCain, who got  228,000 views for his video on Afghanistan.

And Democrats may not have scored so many views, but they did get a majority – 129,095 – of the town hall votes in favor of their positions.
