Fairfax County police arrestsuspects in garage burglaries
Fairfax County police arrested eight people in a series of 27 burglaries that occurred in the Reston and Fair Oaks areas from May through August.
Victims’ houses were targeted because they had left their garage doors open. The individuals entered the garages and removed sporting goods, mostly golf clubs, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Arrested and charged were Reston residents: Haik Petrosian, 18, one count of grand larceny; Joseph M. Enrico, 18, one count of burglary and four counts of grand larceny; Alec Berger, 18, two counts of burglary and four counts of grand larceny; Charles Durbin, 18, two counts of burglary and two counts of petit larceny; and Andrew Fisher, 19, two counts of burglary and two counts of petit larceny.
Three Reston-area juveniles also were charged, police said. – Cathy Gainor
Have you seen my left shoe?
A Georgetown retailer is now short one shoe — but so is someone else. D.C. police report a thief walked into a store in the 3200 block of M Street at 7:22 p.m. Monday and “stole one left shoe from a box.” The person then left the store without paying and apparently has not been caught. No further details were available.
Officer on bike struck by stolen car
A D.C. police officer riding a mountain bike was struck by a stolen car in Northwest Washington Thursday afternoon.
Two officers were patrolling in the 4300 block of Ord Street, N.E. when one of the officers was struck by the vehicle, according to police. The officer, who was taken to an area hospital and admitted in serious condition with non-life-threatening injuries, was able to push his partner out of the way of the limo. Police found the stolen vehicle abandoned nearby, but were still looking for the driver.
