District man indicted on charges of prostituting girl A District man was indicted for allegedly taking a 15-year-old girl into Maryland with the intent that she engage in prostitution, authorities said.

Melvin Douglas, 31, could receive a sentence of up to life in prison if convicted, authorities said.

Authorities began investigating after they saw an online advertisement for a “date” with a girl, who police said had been missing from Prince William County.

Investigators answered the ad and an undercover officer met the victim at a designated motel in College Park.

A search of Douglas’ car revealed a receipt for the contact phone for the girl, authorities said.

Police believe the attacker is a Hispanic man in his 20s who is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds.

Residents should walk in groups and use extreme caution on trails near the station, police said.
