Ervin Santana‘s no-hitter on Wednesday against the Cleveland Indians came as no surprise to the Baltimore Orioles. In his previous outing Friday night at Camden Yards, Santana had a no-no going with one out in the sixth inning before Blake Davis broke it up with a double to the left-field corner.
Santana gave up three hits in 7 2/3 innings that night in a 6-1 win by Los Angeles Angels. Losing a no-hitter on a night when the first-pitch temperature was 104 degrees — as was the case Friday in Baltimore — was perhaps inevitable.
