Senate scraps Obama land management rule

The Senate approved a resolution of disapproval on Tuesday scrapping a major Obama regulation on federal land management.

The resolution, which passed 51-48, would dismantle the Bureau of Land Management’s land planning and management rule, a sprawling regulation that would make mining and resource development more difficult on federal lands. The Congressional Review Act gives Congress the ability to pass resolutions of disapproval to repeal regulations using a simple majority vote for approval.
