Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe said he and special counsel Robert Mueller will meet within the next 24 hours to make sure Mueller has the resources he needs for his investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
According to McCabe, he has assured Mueller that the bureau “will do everything” to deliver whatever resources are needed.
“A great many folks have already been detailed to Mueller,” McCabe added during questioning by Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y. before a House Appropriations subcommittee meeting on the FBI’s budget requests.
Serrano also asked McCabe if he has taken an oath of loyalty to President Trump.
“I have taken an oath already to the United States of America to protect and defend the Constitution. That is the only oath I will take,” McCabe said, adding, “I do not think it would be appropriate” to discuss “specific conversations (I’ve had with Trump).”
