A video of two Boston Police Department officers singing a rendition of “God Bless America” in a special July 4th adaptation of comedian James Corden’s popular “Car Pool Karaoke” has charmed the Internet.
“Happy to see two of our officers, Kim Tavares and Stephen McNulty, getting in the mood for all the upcoming 4th of July festivities planned for the Boston area and surrounding communities,” the police department wrote on Facebook on Monday, sharing the video of the pair performing the song. “Please feel free to sing along with them as they make their way through our city.”
The video has been viewed over 126,000 times.
Facebook user Monique Love compared McNulty and Tavares to “angels” underneath the post.
“That was absolutely beautiful!! It brought tears to my eyes!! Happy 4th of July and please stay safe. God Bless all of you!!” Karen Abdow Herzberger commented.
Another Facebook user, Susan Macy, suggested they should sing before a Boston Red Sox baseball game.
In Corden’s popular series, aired as part of CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” he and a celebrity drive around a city and croon to musical hits.
