Gary Johnson (& Ken Bone) rocked conservative Liberty University [VIDEO]

Gary Johnson is trying to siphon off as much millennial support from disillusioned conservatives and evangelicals that he can.

On Monday, the Libertarian candidate spoke at convocation at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia and stated his case to millennials for why they should vote for him.

For one, he can solve the problems that are dogging millennials the most: social safety nets.

“Nobody is standing and saying ‘we have to reform medicaid and medicare and social security,'” Johnson told the student body. “And in the case of President Obama’s affordable health care, that is a formula that relies on young healthy people paying for those who aren’t so healthy.”

Liberty’s president Jerry Falwell Jr. is an avid Trump supporter, has campaigned with the Republican nominee, and even supports Trump’s proposed southern border wall. Yet, despite the conservative and evangelical values that Liberty University students hold dear, Johnson’s immigration policy resonated better than expected.

“This country is a country of immigration,” Johnson said to cheers. “Let’s not build a wall across the border. We will be on the wrong side of history building a wall across the border.”

The convocation got a special surprise from Ken Bone, the internet legend who posed a question at the second presidential debate in his signature red sweater, who asked Johnson about the highlight of the second debate.
