Albright off the Reservation

Madeleine Albright is dear to the Clinton family, having served as secretary of state under President Bill Clinton during his second term and being one of Hillary Clinton’s loudest and most active surrogates.

Now, however, one would imagine the Clinton campaign just wants Albright to quiet down.

Albright’s most widely known comment this primary season had her warning of “a special place in hell for women who don’t support other women,” prior to the New Hampshire primary. As it turns out, women in the state chose hell, and young women did so decisively.

Now Albright has new comments regarding Clinton that are just as jaw-dropping but more substantive. And it’s not just pointing out that Clinton “has said she has made a mistake.”

Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while at the State Department will not kill anyone, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said Friday. But Donald Trump’s rhetoric might, the Clinton ally suggested. “She has said she made a mistake, and nobody is going to die as a result of anything that happened on emails,” Albright told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on “New Day,” after the host broached the multifaceted criticism and concerns about Clinton’s foreign policy from opponents and supporters alike.

Even if one elects to ignore the fact that this is not necessarily true, it puts up an interesting standard for crime worth considering: Is committing a crime okay if nobody dies as a result?

If the answer is yes, then Hillary Clinton is far more liberal on crime than most liberals are.
