On this day, July 10, 1889, jealous gunslinger “Buckskin” Frank Leslie murdered his girlfriend, the Tombstone prostitute Blonde Mollie Williams.
Wyatt Earp once described “Buckskin” Frank as being as fast on the draw as Doc Holliday.

Leslie and Blonde Mollie both enjoyed whiskey, which led to frequent quarrels.
During an argument at Leslie’s ranch, Blonde Mollie pulled a pocket revolver, but he fired first, killing her. Buckskin Leslie then shot and wounded his friend, James “Six Shooter Jim” Neil.
The next morning, Leslie road into Tombstone and told the sheriff that Neil had killed Williams. Unknown to Leslie, Neil was listening in the next room. Leslie then said that he killed Neil in self-defense.
When Neil came out of the room, a surprised Buckskin Leslie said that his head hurt and he couldn’t remember anything.
Leslie pleaded guilty to murdering Mollie and spent seven years in prison.
