The hacking group Anonymous will step up its cybercampaign against the Islamic State following Tuesday’s terror attacks in Brussels, according to a YouTube video claiming to be from the group.
“To the supporters of Daesh, we will track you down, we will find you, we are everywhere and we are more than you can imagine,” a spokesperson wearing the group’s signature Guy Fawkes mask said in an unverified YouTube video announcing the launch of “OpBrussels” Thursday.

The video says the group also vows to begin hacking Islamic State websites, shutting down Twitter accounts of extremists tied to the group and “stealing their bitcoins.”
Also in the video is a call for compassion toward Muslims.
“You don’t have to hack [ISIS]. If you stand up against discrimination in your country, you harm them much more than by hacking their websites,” the computerized voice of the spokesperson urges.
“The Islamic State cannot recruit Muslims in Europe if they are accepted and included in the society. So we want all of you to stand together against discrimination,” the person says.
The Anonymous group has gone against the Islamic State before. After the attacks on Paris in November that killed 130, the group announced that “war is declared” on the terror group and to expect “major cyberattacks.”
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s attacks in Brussels at an airport and metro station that left over 30 dead and roughly 200 injured.
