Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell played coy Tuesday morning on WTOP Radio about how the state plans to use more than $1 billion in transportation funds uncovered by an internal audit.
“We’re trying to use it in a way that will build significant projects,” McDonnell said, adding that the money would be spread throughout the state.
Fairfax County recently requested roughly $340 million from the state for a variety of projects, but McDonnell would not talk about specifics regarding how the state will disburse the cash.
