Sean Spicer says he’s ‘very happy’ with his image, has no love for CNN

Sean Spicer said he’s pleased with his image, despite what appeared to be a fresh slew of setbacks this week, including criticism of his Emmy’s appearance and inability to nail down a contributor position at a news network.

“I’m very happy with my image,” the former White House press secretary said in the Washington Post. He insisted he’s not trying to rehabilitate his image after it was reported the five major networks have passed on him for a paid contributor position due to lack of credibility.

Spicer was also critical of the White House press corps, saying the media is “largely a liberal group of people willing to overlook” the missteps of a Democratic administration. He praised a number of reporters, from outlets like CNBC and Bloomberg, notably not praising CNN.

When asked whether he’s failing to include anyone from CNN, he told the Post, “Oh, no.”

On Tuesday, Fox News, CNN, CBS News, ABC News, and NBC News passed on the former press secretary for a full-time gig.

“The news organizations might use him on round tables, but [a paid exclusive contributor job] is not happening,” an anonymous executive told NBC News. The report also said the networks were not interested because Spicer lacks credibility.

Since leaving the White House, Spicer joined the paid speaking circuit, signing with Worldwide Speakers Group. He was also named a visiting fellow at Harvard University.

Spicer made a surprise cameo at the Emmy Awards on Sunday poking fun at his infamous inauguration crowd size declaration, which was met with mixed reviews from Hollywood and political reporters. Many people expressed disapproval on Twitter.
