I have been reading Victor Davis Hanson ever since my favorite (very liberal, and since deceased) college professor first encouraged me to read his book The Other Greeks.

While that scholarly work was certainly a greater contribution to human knowledge as a whole, this single sentence from Hanson’s blog post yesterday at National Review Online will surely rank somewhere among his greatest hits:
