Poll: Sanders up in N.H., Clinton in Iowa and S.C.

Bernie Sanders holds a strong polling lead in New Hampshire, trails Hillary Clinton in Iowa, but is still getting walloped so far in South Carolina, a new poll out Saturday found.

The new poll from CBS also reports that Martin O’Malley continues to struggle in the low single digits in all states.

Clinton leads Sanders, who calls himself a democratic socialist, 67-31 percent in a poll of Democratic primary voters in South Carolina. Her big lead suggests Sanders’ effort to reach to African-Americans, who make up a big chunk of the Palmetto State’s Democratic voters, has so far not suceeded.

Clinton leads the Vermont senator 50-45 percent in Iowa.

She continues to trail Sanders in New Hampshire, 56-42 percent. New Hampshire borders Sanders’ home state of Vermont, allowing Clinton to argue Sanders benefits from proximity there.

O’Malley polls at 4, 1, and 2 percent in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, respectively.
